These are a 21 page chart of the Night Sky compiled by Andrew Johnson and released with a creative commons license. You can print it with your home printer for use on the field. It is a cheap alternative to buying a dedicated sky atlas. (needs WinZip to decompress and Acrobat Reader to view)
Lecture Manuals
These manuals are used in-house by UP Astrosoc for training of its new members. UP Astrosoc is making them available for download for use by other educators. The Education and Research Cluster is responsible for the writing and creation of these first class guides. We are currently working out the copyright for all the images we used (basically asking permissions from those who took em) so keep looking at this site as we post more.

Orbitron is a free satellite tracking program. Orbitron lets you identify satellites you've seen as well as predict upcoming passes of popular satellites such as the ISS or other less popular satellites. Also useful is its ability to predict Iridium Flares for your location.Virtual Moon Atlas displays the moon as it appears tonight on your desktop. It allows you to customize observing lists based on current lunar phase and the size of your instrument. Many packages are available from the most basic software package all the way to the most complex.
Stellarium is a free open source planetarium for your computer. It shows a realistic sky in 3D, just like what you see with the naked eye. to binoculars or a telescope. -from Stellarium website
